Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The first trade of the PLL offseason has been completed.

The Chaos have traded Jake Froccaro to the Cannons in exchange for Andrew Kew and the Cannons’ third-round pick in the 2023 College Draft. Froccaro figures to fit in well with the Cannons, while the acquisition of Kew is just the latest in Chaos head coach Andy Towers’ affinity for box players.

2. The conference landscape continues to change.

While there’s yet to be confirmation from any of the conferences involved, it appears increasingly likely that Monmouth will be leaving the MAAC and joining the CAA. Multiple sources told Adam Zagoria of NJ Advance Media that it’s imminent.

Those sources also added that Stony Brook and Hampton might not be far behind in their addition to the CAA.

3. Constant stops and starts haven’t deterred Jeff Teat’s rise.

Teat, already a star when the COVID-19 pandemic added roadblock after roadblock to his final years at Cornell, has used that as a learning experience. He didn’t fret when Canadian border restrictions delayed his PLL debut, and when he had to miss time in the NLL due to COVID-19 protocols, he stayed positive.

4. Remember Sam Handley?

If you don’t, you should study up. The behemoth midfielder has essentially been off the grid since his breakout 2019 season, though it’s no fault of his own. Ivy League restrictions have put a halt on his once burgeoning career, but Handley and No. 9 Penn will be back this spring.

5. The Loyola women return just about as much — maybe even more — as anyone else in the country.

The Greyhounds bring back Patriot League players of the year at attack, defense and goalie, meaning the sky is the limit for Jen Adams’ team in 2022.
