The Illinois Chapter of US Lacrosse is led by President Angelo Calvello with help from 15 other board memberswith various areas of influence in the Illinois lacrosse community. Their chapter is one of eight in the "Great Lakes Region" and holds to its mission to promote the development of lacrosse in Illinois by maximizing their resources, dedication and leadership. 

The Fox Valley Lacrosse Club was among the first organizations in the Illinois Chapter to support USL's 'Honor the Game' campaign.

While they serve the entire state, they keep a strong focus on those underserved areas that would benefit from USL's resources. Since the game is growing rapidly at the youth and high school levels, they are also working hard to promote safety and sportsmanship by supporting coaches and officials training. Their goal is to provide the necessary education and support for all stakeholders so lacrosse is recognized as a high school varsity sport by the IHSA (Illinois High School Association).

The Illinois Chapter started its provisional year in 2009 after dissolving the previous Chicago Chapter due to the broader view of incorporating the entire state. Under new leadership, President Angelo Calvello and his board made great strides for lacrosse in the area. The chapter was selected as a Fast Break location in 2009, offering coaches clinics, officials training, a player’s clinic and PE curriculum. The chapter also awarded an equipment grant to MAGIC, a South side community organization, and sponsored an open house to introduce the game to the community.

The chapter is designing and implementing an equipment donation program and is working with US Lacrosse at the national level to design a prototype sustainability program that focuses on promoting environmental stewardship of natural resources. The chapter will be hosting a Level I Coaches Clinic in February to kick off the new spring season.
