After taking a glimpse at the Utah Chapter of US Lacrosse, it is apparent that this chapter is nothing short of unique. Because this chapter also coexists as a league, its operations are significantly different than the majority of US Lacrosse chapters. The Utah Chapter, founded in 1998 and led by chapter president Lisa Schmidt, never ceases to amaze the staff and volunteers of US Lacrosse.

Lisa is in her third year as the executive director and also participates on the US Lacrosse Board. The chapter has been actively involved in the local lacrosse community, and also supports the many campaigns and programs established by the national organization in Baltimore. The Utah Lacrosse Association is committed to fostering and promoting the sport of lacrosse, as played by both men and women in the state of Utah.

Below are some events and programs the chapter currently hosts:

• Holds State Coaches Convention in November which includes coaches training.
• Annual Park City Ski Town Shoot Out with emphasis on sportsmanship and camaraderie.
• Free Coaches Clinic with Cornell Men’s Head Coach, Jeff Tambroni.
• Year round league operation from youth to adult level.
• US Lacrosse Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching Education Clinics and PCA workshops.
• Participates in the U-15 Festivals and U-15 National Championships.
• Provides grants plus youth and HS participation scholarships.
• ULA Annual Coaches Convention (December 2009).
•  Supports the Men’s Division Safety and Sportsmanship Campaign (Honor the Game).
