US Lacrosse began player evaluations in 2012 for the U.S. Men’s National Team that will compete in the FIL World Championship, to be held July 10-19, 2014 in Denver, Colo. Through a series of exhibition games, the coaching staff began the process of identifying the best of the best, who will be invited to formal tryouts for the U.S. Men’s National Team. Tryouts will be held Aug. 30-Sept. 1, 2013 at Goucher College in Baltimore, Md.

In addition, US Lacrosse is accepting open applications for the tryouts, beginning June 1, 2013.

Applications will be available online (link below) and are due back on or before June 30, 2013. All active collegiate, post-collegiate and professional players over the age of 18 and with documented U.S. citizenship are eligible to apply. Applications will be reviewed by the Player Selection Committee, which includes past U.S. Men’s National Team coaches and players, as well as current college and professional coaches.

On July 27, 2013, a total of approximately 92 players (20 attackmen, 28 midfielders, eight defensive midfielders, eight longstick midfielders, four faceoff specialists, 16 defensemen and eight goalies) will be formally invited to try out for the 2014 U.S. Men’s National Team. Following tryouts over Labor Day weekend, US Lacrosse will announce the 40-player U.S. Men’s National Training Team.
