MADISON, WIS., Oct. 12, 2011 — US Lacrosse and the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation (WLF) will host the second annual Fast Break Initiative (FBI) "Super Weekend," sponsored by LaxWorld, at Waunakee High School in Waunakee, Wis., Nov. 12-13. The four discounted US Lacrosse events and free WLF-sponsored breakout sessions will cover everything a new lacrosse program needs to flourish into a self-sustaining organization.
Learning opportunities include: a Level 1 Coaching Education Program (CEP) certification package opportunity; a Level 2 CEP instructional clinic; men’s and women’s officials trainings; and breakout sessions for parents, administrators, players and current Level 2 CEP certified coaches.
"Fast Break Initiative is one of the most impactful programs that US Lacrosse offers," said Joshua Christian, US Lacrosse managing director of sport development. "To provide this upstart lacrosse area with comprehensive resources to help grow the games successfully and responsibly is something we hope to continue and build upon for future sites. It is a great opportunity for all levels of players, coaches, officials, program administrators and parents, and we would like to thank the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation for welcoming us."
"Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation is honored to be awarded a Fast Break Initiative for 2011," said Dave Wollin, Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation president. "Working with US Lacrosse to create a Super Weekend will allow all those interested in lacrosse a place to come and improve their skills. People here have been working very hard to develop lacrosse, and the opportunity to network with clinicians and nationally recognized coaches will give our chapter a strong foundation to continue building."
