The US Lacrosse Annual Native American High School Player of the Year Scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female each year. The scholarship honors high school students of Native American descent who exemplify high character, leadership, and academics both on and off the lacrosse field.
"We are thrilled to work with the University Club of Washington and to be associated with an award that recognizes the premier men’s and women’s collegiate lacrosse players each year," said Steve Stenersen, president and CEO of US Lacrosse. "And, just as importantly, the scholarship honors the sport’s Native American heritage, and rewards outstanding young Iroquois student-athletes who aspire to achieve their full potential on the lacrosse field and in the classroom."
