Experienced lacrosse officials can make contributions to the sport beyond the athletic fields by providing advanced training, career development, and fellowship to young officials trying to learn the game or progress upward through the ranks.
An investment in mentoring builds camaraderie, strengthens the local association, protects the culture and character of lacrosse, and promotes the sport by giving something back to the game.
The men's officials' training committee has compiled the following resources to help US Lacrosse officials and assignors develop a mentoring program. The guidelines posted here are for both the mentor and the mentee, and are designed so that each individual in the mentoring relationship can gain as much as possible from the experience.
