In addition to the extensive ratings and umpire development structure currently in place by the Women’s Game Officials Sub-Committee, US Lacrosse and the WGOSC have developed new USL sponsored umpire rating and training clinics.

US Lacrosse has also defined and established a list of approved District Rating events and clinics that women’s game umpires can attend in order to pursue their District Rating.

Along with the District Rating Events, US Lacrosse and the WGOSC have established both a developmental clinic and LEAD (Local Enrichment And Development) training for women’s game umpires.

Susie Ganzenmuller Observation Program
The purpose of this program is to emulate Susie Ganzenmuller’s passion and attitude toward officials’ on-field development through a grant to Local Boards to implement an observation program. The goal of this program is to develop officials, by utilizing on-field evaluations throughout the spring season. As such, observers will be trained to identify and communicate key areas for improvement in working officials, and follow up to see if these officials have implemented the suggestions into their games.

2014 US Lacrosse National Convention Scholarship Program
The US Lacrosse National Convention is the best pre-game an official can have for the season. It's a time for the lacrosse community to gather to communicate, collaborate, educate and of course socialize as we prepare for the 2014 season. USL recognizes that travel, lodging and registration can be cost prohibitive for some, which is why we’re excited to again offer the Official’s Education Program Scholarships. Each of the six super regions will be awarded four scholarships for a total of 24 awards. The scholarships for Super Regions 5 and 6 will be in the amount of $275 per award, and the scholarships for Super Regions 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be in the amount of $175 per award. The scholarship monies will be paid out post convention. The purpose of these scholarships is to help subsidize the cost for officials wishing to attend the convention. The deadline to apply is September 15, 2013. Winners will be announced on the US Lacrosse.org and contacted via e-mail by September 30, 2013. Those who are selected must register for convention by October 30 or risk losing their scholarship. Those who are selected will have to agree to report back to USL by April 1, 2014 detailing how their convention experience benefited them individually, their board, and their region. Some of those selected may also be asked to do a brief on-camera interview on the Sunday of the convention (more information to follow).
