U-13 and U-15 will play using Level A Rules
All rules will be enforced during the 2011 Youth Lax Fests, with the following modifications for festival play:
Game Time and Overtime
Games will consist of two (2), 25-minute running-time halves with a 5-minute halftime. All game periods (Start, End of Half, Start of Second Half, and End of Game) will be signaled with a "central horn" at the Lax Fest facility. Teams should be in position to begin play at the sounding of the central horn. No overtime periods will be played.
Note: Games are subject to cancellation without a make-up should inclement weather occur.
Penalty Time
All penalties are 3-minutes and penalty time will be kept by the assigned US Lacrosse table staff.
Time Outs
Each team may take two (2) 30-second time outs per game and only after a goal is scored. During the last two (2) minutes of a game, neither team may call a time out after a goal.
Three Seconds Closely Guarded
The three seconds closely guarded rule will be a point of emphasis. No holding the ball for more than three (3) seconds when closely guarded/marked and the defense has both hands on her stick and is position to legally check where checking is allowed. The Umpire count is aloud: "one thousand, two thousand, three," whistle.
Modified Checking
Checking is only allowed if the entire stick is below the shoulder level. The check must be in a downward direction and away from the body.
Substitutions
Substitutions are unlimited and can be any time during the play, after goals, and at halftime.
Sideline Manager
Each team (home and away) will provide a sideline manager whose duty is to control effectively the actions of spectators not in conformity with the standards of proper control.
