This fourth annual championship event provides the highest level of national lacrosse competition for U15 boys’ and girls’ teams and an opportunity for players, coaches and families to develop relationships with others in the national lacrosse community.
The expanded 2012 U15 National Championships begin with regional championships in June and culminate in Orlando July 24-26 (girls) and July 27-29 (boys). As many as 64 of the best teams in the country (32 boys, 32 girls) will compete for the one and only US Lacrosse U15 National Championship and be showcased alongside top athletes from other sports at the ESPNHS Games.
The Field: Regional Champions and Runners-Up
US Lacrosse will host Regional Championships in Arizona (June 1-3), Texas (June 8-10) and North Carolina (June 15-17). Each regional will include pool play followed by bracket play. The top four teams at each regional will receive automatic invitations with free or discounted registration to the National Championship, which will account for 12 teams in each gender's 32-team bracket.
The Field: At-Large Bids
As of mid April, US Lacrosse had awarded all 20 of the available at-large bids to the boys' U15 National Championship. On the girls' side, nearly all at-large bids had been awarded. The top four teams and the sportsmanship award winning team from the 2011 U15 National Championships were eligible to receive at-large bids. Participating teams and schedules will be announced when confirmed.
