The US Lacrosse Men’s and Women’s Game Safety Subcommittees are proud to announce "COMPETE WITH CLASS - HONOR THE GAME," a safety and sportsmanship initiative for the 2012 lacrosse season. The program’s goal is to improve the safety, sportsmanship and best practices in all aspects of the game. To achieve this goal, the committee will be providing critical, pertinent information and educational tools for parents, program administrators, coaches, officials and players throughout 2012.

The four quarterly topics for 2012 are:
  • Concussion awareness
  • Rules and guidelines for fair play
  • Sportsmanship for players, coaches, officials, and fans
  • Conditioning, hydration, and nutritional strategies

We will be using a wide range of US lacrosse communication tools to regularly share this information so please be sure to follow us on Twitter at @USLacrosse, "Like" us on Facebook at fb.com/USLacrosse and regularly visit our website: www.uslacrosse.org/safety. If you are a US Lacrosse member, you could also find information in various member communications.

We encourage you to share the program information broadly and to actively incorporate this information into your programs, practices and games. We welcome your feedback on and suggestions for topics, resources and media. Please email us at honorthegame@uslacrosse.org.

Our committee is charged with increasing awareness and understanding of the safety and sportsmanship in our game and with your help we can keep lacrosse a healthy, fun, exciting athletic activity for all participants.

Thank you for your support,
