Lacrosse Family Comes Together at LaxCon

BALTIMORE — It’s billed as the sport’s largest educational opportunity, but on Saturday, the US Lacrosse Convention felt more like the sport’s largest family reunion.

There were literal families – like the Stanwick brothers (Steele and Wells) presenting the two-man game on the STX Live Field, the husband and wife team of Team USA’s Paul and Kelly Rabil involved in presentations and autograph sessions throughout the Baltimore Convention Center, and the Thompson brothers sharing their story — but also the lacrosse family in a metaphorical sense.

US Lacrosse Names 2017 Women’s World Cup Roster

US Lacrosse has announced the 18-player U.S. Women’s National Team that will compete in the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women’s World Cup, July 12-22 in Guildford, England. The roster includes seven players from the 2013 U.S. women’s national team that won gold at the FIL World Cup. Two also were members of the 2009 world champion U.S. women’s national team.

BRADENTON, Fla. – Rob Pannell scored all three of his goals during the decisive first half as Team USA defeated Notre Dame, 16-11, in a men’s lacrosse exhibition as part of the Team USA Spring Premiere at IMG Academy Field here Sunday.

Ryan Brown and Matt Danowski also tallied a team-high three goals each in game played by Federational of International Lacrosse rules in front of 1,867 fans.
