BRIDGE Initiative Mission Statement
Building Relationships to Initiate Diversity, Growth and Enrichment
BRIDGE Affiliates provide integrated lacrosse instruction and life skills enrichment to youth from diverse and traditionally underserved populations.
BRIDGE Background
In January 2003, as an important component of the US Lacrosse strategic plan, leaders from innovative youth lacrosse programs in diverse communities around the country came together to formalize the BRIDGE Initiative and its volunteer leadership committee. Since that time, the hard-working committee has developed numerous strategies to expand the game in more communities around the country, including the creation of the BRIDGE Affiliate program for teams and leagues founded in the pursuit of the BRIDGE mission. US Lacrosse funding and outside grants seed more BRIDGE endeavors each year, from providing equipment grants, event opportunities and special membership benefits to BRIDGE affiliates, to supporting BRIDGE educational sessions and research efforts.
