Delaware Men's & Women's Lacrosse Announce Heroes Month

HEROES MONTH: This March is Heroes Month at Delaware Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse games. All veterans, active military, fire department, police department, and emergency service personnel are invited out to any lacrosse game this month with the opportunity to purchase discounted $3 tickets for up to four (4) people. To purchase the discounted tickets, please show your veteran or work identification card at the Delaware Stadium Box Office on the day of the game only.

Blue Hen Lacrosse Camps
For the past 30 years the Blue Hen Lacrosse Camps has been directed by Bob Shillinglaw, Head Lacrosse Coach at the University of Delaware. The Blue Hen Lacrosse Camps offers an instructional teaching camp with experienced youth, high school and college coaches. The MVP - Blue Hen First State Shootout is a competitive youth tournament with 5 games over a two day period.

Blue Hen Instructional Camps (Boys ages 8-18)
Four days of instructional sessions that ensure that your child will receive the maximum amount of lacrosse instruction. Campers are grouped according to age, size, and skill level. Instructional emphasis will be on positional & skill play in the morning, team concepts in the afternoon, with games played at the end of each session and in the evening. There will be special individual emphasis on face-off and goalie mechanics. The camper to coach ratio will be 8:1 ensuring maximum exposure to the game of lacrosse. Players can attend as individuals. Teams are also encouraged to attend.  ALL CAMPERS WILL STAY IN AIR CONDITIONED DORMS IN THE LAIRD NORTH CAMPUS AREA.

Cost: Overnight - $475 (dorm room and meals).  Day - $350 (includes lunch and dinner)

Battle of the Hot Beds Lacrosse Camp
The 2010 Battle of the Hotbeds is a competitive recruiting team camp. Each team will play 12-14 games in a 4 day period. Check in is between 10:30 a.m.to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 22 and the camp is over on Wednesday, July 25 depending on the times of each team games between 11-12:30 p.m..

Every team plays 2 games on Sunday and Wednesday and 4 games on Monday and Tuesday. Top 4 teams will be in the Final Four Wednesday. There are two All Star games (rising juniors and rising seniors) on Tuesday evening which is attended by a large number of college coaches. The All Star teams are selected by a panel of college coaches. Each year the camps has been averaging over 80-100 college coaches in attendance.

Housing options are either hotel/day ($380) or University of Delaware air conditioned dorms ($550). Meals for dorm campers are as followed Sunday= dinner, Monday and Tuesday =breakfast, lunch, dinner and Wednesday = breakfast. Any camper signing up after July 10 will be assessed a $50 late fee.

The dorms are closely supervised and campers not following camp rules will be sent home. College coaches will be made aware of a camper who has been sent home for not following camp regulations.

Rippin' Rope Lacrosse Club for boys and girls
Rippin' Rope Lacrosse Club is a summer travel club for local youth boys and girls. We currently have U11/U13/U15 boys and U15 and HS Girls teams. This will be our fourth summer. Rippin’ Rope Lacrosse Club is committed to each player and to the game of lacrosse. RRLC is a secondary opportunity club team, with no affiliation to any youth and/or school organization, for local players eager to participate in competitive, player-developmental lacrosse in the summer and fall seasons. As current head coaches and current/former NCAA lacrosse players, RRLC coaches have the experience and knowledge to ensure a player will grow as a player and person. The primary objective of RRLC is to help strengthen the tools needed to be confident, polished lacrosse players. Instructional Lacrosse Camp at Washington College
Dates: July 12-15, 2012

In an effort to assist our youth lacrosse organizations, Jeff Shirk Lacrosse Camps at Washington College donates money to youth programs every summer. For every camper who attends our Instructional Boy's Lacrosse Camp at Washington College (details below), we donate $20 to his local youth organization. In the past, we have donated thousands to local programs. This is our way of helping support our very important youth lacrosse organizations.

We understand that lacrosse is an expensive sport. To help defray the cost for an individual to play, we are giving a free Maverik lacrosse stick to all of our Instructional campers who register and pay in full by May 31st.
