The Helena Lacrosse Club hosted a Start Up Event on Saturday, October 28th, at Siebel Fields in Helena. Close to 20 new lacrosse players participated in a free clinic, hosted by Hellgate Head Coach Kevin Flynn and some of the Knight players. The kids learned some basic skills and then were treated to a raffle where they won some great prizes. Following the raffle, the Helena parents participated in a Q & A session with the Hellgate Lacrosse Board and by the end there was a new Helena Board established. There were also 5 future Helena coaches who made it out to the fields, so the program is off to a great start! The Helena Lacrosse Club is currently working on a website, recruiting new players, and getting prepared to take the field in the spring of 2013! The 2012 Elite 100 Showcase was held on October 5th and 6th in Missoula, Montana. The event featured 100 of our region's top middle school and high school boys lacrosse players, who participated in drills and scrimmages throughout the event. On hand to coach the boys for the Elite 100 were lacrosse stars Ken Clausen (4X All-America at Virginia), Mike Powell (2X Tewaaraton Winner at Syracuse), and Matt Gibson (2012 MLL Rookie of the Year) along with other Easton Lacrosse and LaxAllStars.com talent.
