Women's Lacrosse Rules

Youth and High School Rules
US Lacrosse writes the rules for youth girls' lacrosse. Visit the Youth Rules page for additional information. US Lacrosse also writes the rules for high school girls'/women's lacrosse, which are endorsed by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

The new US Lacrosse youth rules that took effect with the 2012 season will be published in both the US Lacrosse Women's Rule Book and a new guidebook available for players, coaches, umpires and parents. While some youth leagues may modify some of the rules for league games, the US Lacrosse youth rules as published will govern non-league games and the US Lacrosse Regional and National Championships. The new youth rules were developed with a focus on player development, team play, sportsmanship and safety, and US Lacrosse encourages their adoption by youth girls' leagues across the country.

College Rules
Rules for varsity college play are written by the NCAA.  WCLA (non-varsity) play is governed by USL rules.
