US Lacrosse National Convention: Testimonials

A note of congratulations to you and your staff for a great event. The convention continues to get better. From the perspective of a first-time presenter, your staff was outstanding. From the perspective of an attendee, I continue to come away from the event feeling that our sport is heading in the right direction. Great job, and thanks.

I wanted to take a minute to tell you how much I enjoyed the presentations given to the lacrosse officials at the annual US Lacrosse Convention in Philadelphia.

As a college official who has been around the sport for 19 years, I appreciate the time and effort David Seidman has put into the officials portion of the conference for the past few years. In addition to the rule interpretation and mechanics portion of the conference, which are always excellent, I especially enjoyed the guest speakers, who were able to emphasize the drills, exercises and training that should be used as officials preparing themselves for the season. This was not a cookie-cutter presentation; all drills and exercises demonstrated were geared towards the type of movements typically used by lacrosse officials. I was overly impressed with the information provided and I plan on sharing the drills, exercises, etc. with the cadet officials I am currently teaching in NJ.

In closing, all too often the majority of remarks and or feedback given on conferences are from those who have complaints. I figured that someone who has positive feedback should also take a moment to and recognize when someone is doing a super job.

I attended the US Lacrosse Convention in Philadelphia over the weekend and wanted to pass along that I found the convention to be a very informative experience. I can honestly state that it was, by far, the best sport specific convention that I have every attended. My institution does not offer lacrosse at this juncture as an intercollegiate sport. I have been and still am a strong proponent for starting a lacrosse program at my college. I realize that lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in America; therefore, it was in my best interest to attend this convention.

After attending the convention, I have a much stronger grasp on the sport of lacrosse. The quality of the speakers was phenomenal, especially Dave’s NCAA rules presentation and Buzz Lynn’s new officials session. They presented their sessions in a very organized and thorough manner. I found myself much more knowledgeable about lacrosse after listening to them.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to attending it again next year.

I am both an NCAA college and high school official and I wanted to reach out to you to let you know that I thought the Officials programs presented at the convention were outstanding. I have been coming to the convention for the past five years and the officials programs get better and better each year.

The programs are presented by the some of top officials in the game. The material presented is very useful for officials of all levels. For instance, the mechanics portion is very thorough and concise and helps all officials get better. The injury prevention portion was useful for all officials, especially those of us who been around and the program for new officials was very helpful for the newer officials.

Bottom line is that the officials programs are instrumental in helping all officials get better at what we do, which in turns helps the game of lacrosse. I now look forward to attending future lacrosse conventions and to continue to learn.

I want to thank you and the staff at US Lacrosse for putting together such a fantastic convention! This was my second year attending, and I continue to get so much out of going. From the CEP Level 1 men's clinic, the PCA Double-Goal Coaching clinic, and the great sessions both on-field and in the classroom, to the countless networking opportunities, this is the best event around for lacrosse coaches!

I’m a US Lacrosse member and have played throughout my entire youth, high school, and college career. I would like to state that this convention was one of my best experiences yet. I have chosen to take on the girls' game as a coach (3rd year) and decided to come this year to represent my club while furthering my knowledge of the game. It was well worth the time and the US Lacrosse staff, speakers and players really made it happen. My career is a big part of customer service. It made me very happy to see it in action this weekend and the credit needs to go to people like you that made my experience a wonderful one. I actually can’t wait for next year.

WOW! I really must commend you all on a terrific, motivating convention. I have been a coach for 7/8 grade girls for 3 years. Upon taking an umpire course last year, I was told of the convention. I never knew it even existed. I went with some hesitation, sacrificing an entire weekend away from busy kids; I was soooo glad I went to Philly. The material I brought home with me is so large. I can't wait to share it with my coaches and begin practice with my teams. Your speakers were absolutely amazing. They obviously put much time and effort into preparation. They were all very kind and humble. The vendors were very helpful. I look forward to Baltimore next January and plan to bring my town coaches along. Thanks again. I now feel confident as an educated coach 100%.
