2005 US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates National Championships May 10-14 National Sports Center Blaine, Minn.
Championship Saturday: Three California Teams Win IA National Titles in Blaine, Minn. The 2005 US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates National Championships in Blaine, Minn. concluded on May 14 with all three divisions being won by a California school. Second-seeded UC-Santa Barbara rallied in the second half to beat league rival Sonoma State 8-7 in the Men's A Division championship game for the Gauchos' second straight national title. Top-seeded San Diego won the first-ever Men's B Division national championship with a 9-6 victory over second-seeded Utah Valley State. On the women's side the IA national crown remained in Cal Poly's firm grip as the Mustangs blew by No. 2 Colorado State 14-3 to win their fifth straight national championship.

Event Description The US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates National Championships showcases the nations best Mens and Womens Intercollegiate Associates lacrosse teams in the same venue. It is the only National College Championship that is endorsed and managed by US Lacrosse, the National Governing Body of Lacrosse. This premier event will attract and spotlight some of the best and brightest IA lacrosse talent.
The US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates are comprised of approximately 185 men's and over 150 women's college programs around the country. The teams are not varsity programs at the colleges, but follow similar guidelines as varsity programs and compete at a level much more organized than traditional college club programs.
A total of 16 men's level A teams, 8 mens level B teams, and 16 women's teams will participate in the national championships this year.
