Boys' High School Man of the Year Process
The Man of the Year award honors those individuals whose dedication, commitment, and support of the game and its ideals extend beyond his specific team.
AREA MAN OF THE YEAR Eligibility: 1. Nominees can be active coaches but overall contribution to lacrosse beyond his program is the primary criteria for selection. 2. Nominations should include a biographical sketch, including years of lacrosse involvement and his contributions to the game.
Voting procedure: 1. Voting will be by written ballot. 2. Tie votes should be resolved as follows:
A. 1st choice = 5 points, 2nd choice = 3 points, 3rd choice = 1 point. Highest score wins. B. If still tied, a final decision will be made by the Area Chairman.
Awards process: The SSC's National Awards Chairman will mail all certificates to Area Chairmen in early spring and the recipient acknowledged in an appropriate manner by the respective Area Chairman.
NATIONAL MAN OF THE YEAR Eligibility: 1. Nominees can be active coaches but overall contribution to lacrosse beyond his program is the primary categories for selection. 2. Nominees should be submitted to the SSC's Awards Chairman by June 15. 3. Nominees should include a biographical sketch, including years of involvement and his contributions to the game.
Voting procedure: Information on each nominee will be sent it to each Area Chairman with a ballot for a vote.
Awards process: The National Man of the Year is awarded at the annual US Lacrosse Convention each year. |
