This page is designed as a library of resouces, providing useful tools for men's lacrosse officials and for officiating games. Additional resources will be added as needed.
The following files are saved in pdf format; if you don't have an Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can download one for free. See the box located at the bottom of this page.
Many of these resources are available to all officials. However, if you are not a member, we ask that you consider joining US Lacrosse in order to help us continue projects - such as this resources page - intended to benefit all men's lacrosse officials.
• NCAA Timer Directions • NFHS Timer Directions • NCAA/NFHS Scorer Guidelines These three separate documents, for NCAA games, NFHS games and generic scorer instructions, can be given to the table personnel before the game. They serve as a guide for what to review with the table personnel when time permits, but they are especially helpful for weeknight high school games with early start times when you might not have much time to work with the table personnel.
• Scorecard Print these on cardstock, then cut along the lines. Most essential game information is recorded on the front; the backs are left blank so you can note unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, expulsions, and other information.
• Certification Card These cards are designed to be given to the head coach of each team diring the coach's certification. Print them both sides on cardstock, then cut along the lines.
• NCAA vs. NFHS 2008 (short version) • NCAA vs. NFHS 2008 (long version) These documents (pdf format) contain the rules differences between NCAA abd NFHS lacrosse. The short version is a one-page summary of the most important differences, while the long version contains all known rules differences.
• Two-Man Mechanics (powerpoint)  • Two-Man Mechanics (pdf) The first document contains an updated PowerPoint presentation on two-man mechanics, covering both NCAA and NFHS rules. The second version contains a printable (pdf) version of the presentation, with six slides per page.
• "Stripes" Newsletter Current and past issues of the MDOC newsletter, Stripes, are posted and archived on the MDOC news page.
• Recruiting and Retention Playbook This guide offers a variety of strategies for recruiting new officials and for retaining officials that have already been recruited and trained.
• Sportsmanship Card Information The Sportsmanship Card Program is used in youth games as a means of ensuring proper behavior from fans, coaches and players.
• MDOC Patch - Order Form Use this form to order MDOC patches only. You are eligible to order four patches per year if record of your Level 1 or 2 training is in the US Lacrosse database. Please contact your trainer to ascertain whether your notification was sent to US Lacrosse or e-mail sportdevelopment@uslacrosse.org.

• Post-Collegiate Club Rules - Full version • Post-Collegiate Club Rules - Short version • Post-Collegiate Club - 2008 Rule Changes Many, but not all, post-collegiate club leagues use these rules.
• US Lacrosse Youth Rules These are the standard rules for youth contests for boys ages 15 and under.
• Testing and Training Tests covering NFHS rules, NCAA rules, and mechanics are available to US Lacrosse members as an educational benefit on the MDOC Training Page. In addition, this page contains information about US Lacrosse Level 1 and 2 Training Programs.
• Junior Officials Guidebook  A complete guide to starting and administering a junior officiating program. Learn how to recruit, train, and utilize youths, ages 16-18, to meet your officiating needs at youth games in your area. (This is a large pdf file - please be patient).
• Mentoring Program This is a complete guide to starting and administering a mentoring program for new officials. The program is designed to help newer officials progress more rapidly and to help retain newer officials.
