U.S. Womens Team World Cup Ring Ceremony

The U.S. Women’s National Team reunited this weekend at US Lacrosse National Convention to celebrate the team’s historic gold medal run at the 2013 FIL World Cup in Oshawa, Ontario.

Before Bill Clement’s Friday evening keynote address in Philadelphia, Team USA was honored in front of a host of coaches and officials who had traveled from across the country to be part of the lacrosse world’s largest professional development event. Later, the team and family members gathered for a ring ceremony in which coach Ricky Fried toasted (and roasted) each player as he recounted their role in accomplishing the team’s goal of the “Best Lacrosse Ever Played.”

Numerous U.S. team players, including attacker and captain Lindsey Munday, defenders Amber Falcone and Gina Oliver, and goalkeeper Devon Wills, as well as coach Ricky Fried, hosted educational sessions throughout the weekend. A record crowd at Saturday’s US Lacrosse Fan Fest poured in to the Pennsylvania Convention Center expo hall to meet and mingle with the World Champions throughout the day.

Here’s a look at the celebration video released Friday evening, and Convention weekend as it progressed through the team’s eyes. Watch Team USA take on defending NCAA champion North Carolina at Champion Challenge, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. ET.
