BALTIMORE, July 22, 2013 — US Lacrosse has named STX as the official equipment manufacturer of the US Lacrosse U15 National Championship, powered by Lacrosse Unlimited, July 23-25 (girls) and July 26-28 (boys) in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Nearly 1,400 players on 56 teams from 22 states will participate in the signature youth tournament administered by the national governing body of lacrosse.
The sponsorship provides vendor space at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during the event for STX, which also will award each player on the national championship teams with a new stick from its arsenal.
“We’d like to thank STX for becoming a sponsor of the US Lacrosse U15 National Championship,” said Rob Scherr, sponsorship manager at US Lacrosse. “It’s our fifth annual U15 National Championship, which allows our national membership the opportunity to blend elite-level competition with our long-standing tradition of sportsmanship. STX has been a pillar in the lacrosse industry and our agreement with them will enhance the experience of our youth members and their families at the event.”
“STX is proud to align with US Lacrosse in sponsoring its U15 National Championship,” said Greg Tate, men’s marketing manager at STX. “We work with US Lacrosse in several ways to help grow the sport so it was only natural to get involved with the pinnacle event of youth lacrosse. Having teams from 22 states at this event is a true testament to the growth of the sport, and we hope to see even more areas represented next year.”
Each championship begins with a day of pool play followed by two days of bracket play. The Sky Walkers (Md.) are the defending national champions on the girls’ side, while Long Island Express (N.Y.) is the defending champion on the boys’ side.
