First Stick Success Stories: Empower Lives on Giving Tuesday
Why Support the First Stick Program on Giving Tuesday?
First Stick Program Putting Sticks in Hands on #GivingTuesday
Giving Tuesday is here, and we’re off to a great start! Thanks to your generous gifts, the US Lacrosse Foundation has already raised $8,730 today toward our goal of $20,600 for two new First Stick Program grants!
Just as Black Friday and Cyber Monday mark the start of the holiday shopping season, Giving Tuesday kicks off the end-of-year giving season. Every dollar counts toward giving kids life-changing opportunities through lacrosse. Your donations go directly toward sticks in new players’ hands for one boys and one girls program in new lacrosse communities.
The First Stick Program changes lives through lacrosse. Take a look at this flipbook of testimonials, or scroll to read about the program’s impact from 19 players, parents and coaches. Donate here, and share your support on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #GivingTuesday and tagging @USLacrosse.

Tyler Hooper, player, Norco High School, Norco, Calif.
“I have several players on our team whose lives were drastically changed for good because of lacrosse. One player, it literally saved his life. I wish you could have seen the excitement, spirit, and passion these boys (34 of them) displayed the entire year. They sleep with their sticks! Thank you for making this happen.”
Sherry Sanchez, team manager, Norco High School, Norco, Calif.
“Oh my, you guys are amazing! I want to thank you for the equipment you provided our team with. Without your generous gift, I would not have had the opportunity to be part of the most life changing sport in the world! You gave me the nudge I needed to decide to continue laxing every day! My coach came back from the clinics more experienced in lacrosse than I, and I sincerely cannot thank you enough!”
Aleena McCoy, player, Rockledge High School, Rockledge, Fla.

Without your generosity and commitment to the growth of this noble sport, Hermitage High School would never have fostered and grown our program. I am pleased to share that our club team will reach VARSITY status in the spring of 2014 with inclusion in the VAHS League at Hermitage.”

“This gear was such a blessing to our community. We were lucky enough to have some parents that could afford their own gear so we could even let U15 players use this gear that otherwise would not have played. This gear will be put to such good use to help grow the game in Emmett, ID from top to bottom. I personally thank you so much.”
