US Lacrosse, in partnership with The Lacrosse Network, has released the first two of seven episodes of part two of the “Road to the Rockies: Making Team USA” series, presented by Marriott. Chronicling the team’s journey to Denver to defend gold at the Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship, presented by Trusted Choice, July 10-19 in Denver (tickets), the exclusive web series provides a behind-the-scenes look at the sights and sounds of what it’s like to play for Team USA.
Part one of the series captured the team’s January training weekend and Blue-White exhibition at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla., and culminated with the 30-man roster announcement, live on YouTube.
Part two rejoins the team as they meet for training camp in Connecticut and Massachusetts, leading up to tonight’s MLL All-Star Game and subsequent 23-man final roster announcement. Five additional episodes will be released in the two weeks leading up to the FIL World Championship.
Ned Crotty (New York Lizards) recounts his journey as an unlikely hero in the 2010 FIL World Championship final, where he came off the bench to score the game-tying and game-winning goals for Team USA in a 12-10 victory over Team Canada.
Attackman Brendan Mundorf (Chesapeake Bayhawks) breaks down Team USA’s gear setup, featuring best-in-class products from Nike, STX and Cascade.
Look for more “Road to the Rockies” content next week, and stay tuned for the final 23-man U.S. roster announcement on Monday, June 30.
