If you’re heading to college this fall and are the son or daughter of a high school or college coach, there’s still time to apply for some additional funding assistance. US Lacrosse is proud to support the Michael Breschi Scholarship, which is awarded annually to two (2) graduating high school seniors who are going to attend college and are the son or daughter of a male or female coach who is also a full-time employee of an educational institution.
The deadline for this year’s applications has been extended to August 1, 2014.
The Michael Breschi Scholarship was established in 2007 to honor the life of Michael Breschi, son of Joe Breschi, head men’s lacrosse coach at the University of North Carolina. The scholarship was established to preserve Michael’s memory following a fatal accident and to pass on the steadfast support of the lacrosse community. It is the hope of Coach Breschi's fellow coaches that in awarding this scholarship to the child of another lacrosse coach, they might continue to show their continued support and care to the Breschi family.
The scholarship is a one-time gift of $2,500 for each of two recipients. An amount of $2,500 will be issued to the scholarship winner’s college/university after the transcript of the first semester/quarter has been received by US Lacrosse.
