US Lacrosse has named the U.S. Men’s National Team rosters for the 10th annual Champions Challenge, Jan. 17-18, 2015, at Barron Collier High School in Naples, Fla. A total of 40 of the nation’s best men’s players will take the field in a Blue-White exhibition, Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m.
Among the rosters are 13 returnees from the 2014 U.S. men’s team, which claimed the silver medal at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship in Denver, including All-World attacker Rob Pannell, All-World midfielders David Lawson and Paul Rabil, and All-World defender Tucker Durkin.
The Blue-White rosters, with position, professional and college affiliations, and Team USA experience noted:
The teams will be coached by Kevin Cassese, head coach at Lehigh University, assistant coach of the 2014 U.S. men’s team, and three-time U.S. team midfielder, as well as two-time U.S. world champion goalie Brian Dougherty.
Admission for the event, hosted by US Lacrosse and the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention & Visitors Bureau is just $10 for adults and $5 for children with a student ID or team gear. There is no parking fee.
Clinics are also available for boys’ players in grades 3-12 on Saturday, Jan.17, from 9-11 a.m. Youth and high school players will have the opportunity to learn from members of the 9-time world champion Team USA.
