Kathy played lacrosse at St. Swithuns School in England, where her team won the All-England Schools championship in 1958. From 1959-1960 she attended Pembroke College at Brown University, where she played on the US Reserves Team. Kathy attended Dartford College from 1960-1963, winning the All-England Clubs and Colleges Championship in 1963 as team captain. She played for the All-England team from 1961-1964.
