Stars & Stripes Weekend: Clinics

 

As part of its Stars & Stripes weekend, the U.S. National Teams Program will hold three clinics on Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Episcopal School in Alexandria, Va. 

All three clinics will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with a cost of $40 (which includes a ticket for Sunday’s exhibition games). Clinic participants must be members of US Lacrosse. Additionally, all registration must be completed in advance.

Registration for all three clinics will close at Noon (EST) on Wednesday, September 27, or sooner if space has been filled. Further details on each clinic are described below.


Coaches Clinic  •  CLOSED
This clinic will focus on coaching girls at the high school level. The clinic will be taught by the following U.S. Developmental Team coaches:  Amy Patton (Head Coach at Dartmouth); Jenn Larsen (Head Coach at Oregon);  Missy Foote (Head Coach at Middlebury); Kerri Whitaker (Head Coach at Columbia); and Kim Simons (former Head Coach at Georgetown). Members of the U.S. Women's Developmental Team will serve as demonstrators.

Youth Players Clinic (Girls ages 12 and under)  •  SOLD OUT
This clinic will focus on developing skills for girls youth players. The clinic will be taught by the following members of the U.S. Under-19 Team's coaching staff: Wendy Kridel (U-19 Team Head Coach); Krystin Porcella, Lindsay Mulhern and Jess Wilk (U-19 Team Assistant Coaches). Members of the U.S. Women's Under-19 Team will serve as demonstrators and helpers.

Players Clinic (Girls ages 13 to 18)  •  SOLD OUT 
This clinic will focus on developing skills for girls in middle school and high school. The clinic will be taught by the following members of the U.S. Elite Team's coaching staff: Head Coach Sue Heether, Assistant Coaches Jenny Ulehla and Mac Ford. Members of the U.S. Women's National Elite Team will serve as demonstrators and helpers.

Additional Information
• Each clinic participant will have an opportunity to attend an autograph session and eat pizza with members of the respective teams. Additionally, each participant will receive a free ticket to watch the Women's National Teams play against top club and collegiate teams in Sunday's exhibition game sat St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School in Alexandria. Additional tickets may be purchased online or at the game for $10 each.

• Parking at Episcopal High School is limited near the fields. Use the entrance to the fields off of Braddock Road and PLEASE PARK IN THE GRAVEL LOT. (Directions)

• Participants in the player clinics are required to bring a mouth guard, sticks, balls, eyewear, and appropriate footwear (grass fields - please plan accordingly).

•
Participants in the coaching clinic should bring a stick. It is also recommended particpants bring a clipboard/pen for note taking.

• All participants should bring a water bottle and their own snacks, if needed.

Please Note: Clinic registration fees are non-refundable. However, in the event that a clinic is cancelled due to weather conditions, US Lacrosse will honor requests for refunds.
