The women's national team program is comprised of three teams - the Elite, the Developmental and the Under-19. A brief explanation of each squad appears below.
The Elite (Standing Team) • Current 2008 Roster The Elite team represents the highest level of playing experience for women's lacrosse players and coaches in the United States, with the exception of a touring team. This squad is comprised of individuals who have demonstrated their exceptional abilities as lacrosse players with regards to skill but also through leadership and sportsmanship. The Developmental (Standing Team) • Current 2008 Roster The Developmental team program serves as a means by which the adult lacrosse player can gain greater exposure to international competition and continue to develop her skills with the aim of becoming a member of the Elite or World Cup team. The Under-19 Team • 2007 Team Roster The Under-19 team represents an opportunity for young women to get exposure to international competition at the National Team level through preparation for competition at the IFWLA World Championship. The U-19 squad is assembled for competition in thequadrennial championships, and its members must not have played at the collegiate level before competing in the World Championships. Touring Team • Roster for 2008 Prague Cup Tournament A Touring team is assembled by the coaching staff of the national teams program for participation in an international competition, other than a World Cup Championship. A Touring team represents the highest level of international and domestic competition and playing experience for women's lacrosse players and coaches in the United States. This squad is comprised of individuals who are currently or have been members of any of the U.S. national teams who have demonstrated their exceptional abilities as lacrosse players with regards to skill but also through leadership and sportsmanship.
