Warrior and US Lacrosse Partner for Men's National
Teams Program
Baltimore US Lacrosse is pleased to announce that
Warrior Lacrosse, Inc. will be the exclusive lacrosse equipment and
merchandise sponsor of the United States mens national teams
program through 2004. Warriors sponsorship will provide assistance
to the 2002 US mens team and the 2003 US U-19 boys team.
The 2002 US Mens Team will travel to Perth, Australia next
July for the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) World Championship
and the 2003 U-19 mens team will compete in the world championships
at Towson (Md.) University.
"Were very excited to have Warrior be our exclusive equipment
supplier," said Jody Martin, Mens Division Director for
US Lacrosse. "Their commitment is a wonderful gesture of support
for US Lacrosse and our mens national teams program."
This is the second time that Warrior has been directly involved
with US Lacrosse and its mens national teams program. Warrior
also sponsored the 1998 US mens team.
"We did this in 1998 and it worked out great for us,"
said David Morrow, CEO of Warrior Lacrosse and a member of the 1998
US mens team. "This gives us the opportunity to be associated
with US Lacrosse by supporting the national teams and to be affiliated
with the best amateur players in the country."
Warriors sponsorship of cash, equipment and soft goods is
valued in the low six-figures over the four-year period of the agreement.
The sponsorship will help defray significant costs of the mens
national teams program over the next few years. The budget for training
and sending the mens senior team to Australia next summer
is over $200,000, and there will also be significant expenses involved
in fielding the 2003 U-19 team.
US Lacrosse, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, is the national
governing body of mens and womens lacrosse. Warrior
Lacrosse, Inc., founded in 1994, is a leading global provider of
innovative and high performance lacrosse equipment.
