NAVY TAKES OVER TOP SPOT IN US LACROSSE WDIA POLL

BALTIMORE — With top-ranked Cal Poly falling to UCLA and No. 4 Clemson getting upset by both Emory and Florida State, there was bound to be some movement in the US Lacrosse Women's Division Intercollegiate Associates poll. The shakeups have allowed Navy, the 2001 US Lacrosse WDIA runner-up, to move into the top spot.

Florida State's strong early season showing has allowed them to move into the poll at the No. 23 spot. No team moved up more than two spots in the poll this week.

The US Lacrosse Women's Division Intercollegiate Associates consist of more than 100 traditional college club teams from around the country. Eight teams will be invited to the US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates National Championships, which will be held from May 8-11 in St. Louis. US Lacrosse, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization, is the national governing body of men's and women's lacrosse.
