Shanahan Named ILF Best And Fairest
Doug Shanahan was named the Best and Fairest Player at the International
Lacrosse Federation World Championship, which concluded in Perth,
Australia on July 14. Shanahan helped the United States win its
sixth straight ILF championship. Shanahan led the U.S. with 16 goals,
including four in the 18-15 championship game victory over Canada.
Shanahan was joined by four other U.S. team members on the all-world
team. Darren Lowe, who had a team-high 30 points on 11 goals and
19 assists, was named to the attack unit. Defensemen Ryan McClay
and Ryan Mollett were included on the 10-player unit with McClay
earning Best Defender honors. Trevor Tierney was named Best Goalkeeper.
