IA Championships



Cal Poly and Colorado State Win Their 3rd IA National Titles

FENTON, Mo. — Cal Poly won its third straight women's title and Colorado State won its third overall title in the US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Associates National Championship on May 10 at the Anheuser-Busch Sports Center here in Fenton, Mo., located just outside of St. Louis.

Cal Poly edged archrival and top-seeded UCLA 11-9 to even the season series between the two schools at 2-2. UCLA had beaten Cal Poly to win the Western Women's Lacrosse League championship on April 27. Cal Poly is now a perfect 10-0 in three years of IA play.

Colorado State, playing in its fifth straight championship game, defeated top-seeded UC-Santa Barbara 6-4. The Rams have now won national championships in 1999, 2001 and 2003.
