2003 US Lacrosse Women's National Tournament

U.S. U-19 Team Wins at National Tournament

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --  The United States U-19 women's lacrosse team defeated a team of national high school all-stars 16-2 to highlight the first day of action at the 70th annual US Lacrosse Women's Division National Tournament at Lehigh University. More than 1,300 women's lacrosse players are competing in the event at the high school and club division levels.

Kristen Waagbo (Mt. Hebron H.S., Md. '03/Duke) scored three goals to lead the U.S. team to the 16-2 victory. The U.S. jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Coco Stanwick (Notre Dame Prep, Md. '03/Georgetown) and Megan Havrilla (Conestoga H.S., Pa. '03/Virginia) before the All-Stars got on the board on a goal by Lauren Cohen (Farmingdale H.S., N.Y. '04). The U.S. then scored 12 straight goals before Alexis Lobodochy (Academy of the Sacred Heart, Mich.) scored with just over a minute to play.

The U.S. also got two goals each from Stanwick, Krista Pellizzi (Farmingdale H.S., N.Y./Maryland), Leigh Jester (Ridgewood H.S., N.J. '03/Duke) and Havrilla.

U.S. Goals: Kristen Waagbo 3, Coco Stanwick 2, Krista Pellizzi 2, Leigh Jester 2, Megan Havrilla 2, Rachel Sanford, Claire Bordley, Jessica Adam, Kaitlin Swagart, Schuyler Sutton.
