National Sports Museum to Open in Summer 2006
BALTIMORE — US Lacrosse and The Lacrosse Museum and National Hall of Fame are pleased to announce they are an official partner of the National Sports Museum scheduled to open in the summer 2006 in Lower Manhattan, NY.
The National Sports Museum will be the country's first interactive museum dedicated to the history and importance of all sports. No other venue, bringing together over 20 different sports, exists in North America. Created in partnership with over 30 of North America's major sports halls of fame, museums and organizations, the interactive venue will be housed in 90,000 square feet at "Bowling Green", steps from the Statue of Liberty ferry and a few blocks from the World Trade Center site. US Lacrosse is one of the original 12 major sports halls of fame, museums and organizations to sign-up with the National Sports Museum in their planning process several years ago.
