2006 U.S. Men's National Team Process



2006 US Lacrosse Men's National Team Process Begins

US Lacrosse announces that the 2006 U.S. Men's National Team will compete in the 2006 ILF World Championship in Ontario, Canada in late June, early July 2006. All aspects of the US Lacrosse Men's National Team Program is overseen by the US Lacrosse Men's Division Director, in conjunction with the US Lacrosse Men's Athletes Council and the US Lacrosse Men's International Committee.

GENERAL MANAGER SELECTION
The first team staff position to be determined is that of the General Manager and it will be announced by September, 2004. The volunteer position is a four-year commitment that begins in September, 2004 and runs through the summer of 2008.

In conjunction with the US Lacrosse Men's Division Director, the US Lacrosse Men's Athletes Council and the US Lacrosse Men's International Committee, the General Manager oversees all team logistics, including coach selection, team selection, sponsor relations, budgeting, fundraising, equipment, uniforms, calendar, training camp, national clinic program, and other team competitions that will occur within the four year appointment period.

Interested applicants must have at least 5 years of relevant management experience in the administration and coordination of lacrosse team activities at the college, post-college, professional or international level. A cover letter should accompany a lacrosse and corporate resume and be submitted electronically to US Lacrosse Men's Division Director Jody Martin at jmartin@uslacrosse.org before August 1, 2004. No faxes or hard copies will be accepted.

COACHING STAFF SELECTION
Once the Team's General Manager is selected in September 2004, the process to select the four members of the team's coaching staff will begin. Information on the coaching staff application process will be available on the US Lacrosse website and mailed to college and post-college coaches in September, 2004. The coaching staff will be announced in January, 2005.

TEAM SELECTION
The 2006 US Men's Team will be selected in a 4 day tryout in the summer of 2005; eligible players who qualify for an invitation to try out will include those who are on a college or a post-college team in the spring season of 2005. Player tryout applications will be available on the US Lacrosse website and sent to college and post-college coaches by March 1, 2005.

Information on all aspects of the 2006 U.S. Men's National Team will be available on the US Lacrosse website as it becomes available.
