34 Players Advance in World Cup Tryouts

BALTIMORE — Sue Stahl, coach of the United States Women’s Lacrosse Team, has announced that 34 players have advanced to the final round of tryouts for the U.S. Team for the 2005 International Federation of Women’s Lacrosse Associations World Cup. The most recent tryout took place the weekend of Nov. 20-21 in Norfolk, Va.

The 24-member World Cup Training Team will be selected following tryouts on Jan. 22-23 in Orlando, Fla.

The 2005 IFWLA World Cup, featuring a record 10 countries, will be hosted by US Lacrosse from June 23 to July 2 at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. The U.S. has won four straight World Cup championships and five of the six championships played all-time. Complete information on the World Cup can be found at www.uslacrosse.org/worldcup.
