US Lacrosse Coaching Clinics Scheduled Across the Country
BALTIMORE — The US Lacrosse Coaches Education Program (CEP) will run eight Level 1 Instructional clinics throughout the United States this fall. These hands-on clinics will enhance participants' coaching skills and knowledge about the sport of lacrosse.
The clinics will be held in Peachtree City, Ga. on Nov. 5, Frederick, Md. on Nov. 12; Cincinnati, Ohio on Nov. 13; Las Vegas, Nev. on Nov 19; Gilbert, Ariz. on Dec. 3; Shelburne, Vt. on Dec. 4; Plano, Texas on Dec. 10; Southern California on Dec. 11.

Clinics provide the tools needed to effectively teach rules, basic individual skills and team concepts. The clinics introduce coaches to responsibilities and philosophies of coaching and providing a safe playing environment. Seminars, practical demonstrations, and personalized discussions with trained US Lacrosse trainers are also offered to the participants. The clinics are for coaches of all levels of experience who coach beginner or youth players of the sport. Current membership to US Lacrosse is required to attend.
The instructional clinics are day long events providing attendees with beneficial information and a valuable experience. Instructors have been trained and extensively screened to ensure they are qualified to teach up to US Lacrosse professional standards.
Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. More than 350,000 people participated in lacrosse throughout 2004 and the number of varsity high school programs had grown by nearly 200 percent in the last 10 years. With this growth, more coaches will be needed in exponential numbers. The CEP has been established to provide a first-ever standardized coaches’ curriculum to meet this need.
US Lacrosse, a 501©(3) nonprofit organization, is the national governing body for men's and women's lacrosse.
