Tryouts for 2005-06 Women's Developmental Team to be held June 11-12 at Loyola College

Tryouts for the women's 2005-06 U.S. Developmental Team tryouts are being held June 11-12 at Loyola College in Baltimore, Md., at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field. The trials are open, and interested players need to fill out the intent-to-stand form and send a $25 no-show fee to US Lacrosse, no later than June 1 (deadline extended). All candidates must be at least 18 years of age, be a United States citizen and be a current member of US Lacrosse.

The Developmental Team is an integral part of the US National Team Program. The mission of the program is to identify and develop talent in preparation for international competition at the senior level, and to represent the mission of US Lacrosse through the exposure of the women's national teams. The Developmental squad is selected annually, in June, by an impressive committee of current and former college coaches.

In 2005, a squad of 28 members will be selected and those selected will be expected to represent the U.S. Team on and off the field. Developmental Team players will be expected to attend all team practices, games, clinics and other required events. In May 2006, the Developmental Team will play as the host team in the Women's Division National Tournament (following the World Cup year). The head coach of the Developmental Team is Sue Murphy and the assistant coaches include Jen Uleha and Mandee O'Leary. Joanne Ambrogi is the Trainer.

The tryout schedule:

Saturday, June 11
• Check in is at 8:30 a.m. at Loyola College at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field
• Pinnies will be provided from coaching staff.
• Drills and practices continue throughout the day.
(Lunch is not provided for players)
• Day 1 concludes at 5 p.m.

Sunday, June 12
• Tryouts begin at 9:00a.m. and will end at Noon
(Lunch is not provided for players)
• The selection committee will meet until 3 p.m.
• Players reconvene at 3 p.m., and the team roster is announced.
