2005 National Senior Showcase Rosters Announced

2005 National Senior Showcase Returns to St. Louis,
Four Regional Teams Named

BALTIMORE — Ninety-two of the nation’s top high school boys’ lacrosse players have been selected to participate in the US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase. The event, presented by Lax World, will be held on June 25 at the Anheuser-Busch Sports Center in Fenton, Mo.

The 92 players will represent four regions of the country—East, North, South and West—and participate in a championship format. Semifinal games will be played at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 25. The consolation game will be played later that day at 1 p.m., followed by the championship game at 3:15 p.m. There is a $5 parking fee per car at the event.

Players representing high schools from 30 states will be competing in this year’s NSS. The East team will be coached by Doc Dougherty (Garden City, NY) and Tim Weir (Lakeland Panas, NY). The North team will be coached by Jim Pistello (Jamesville-Dewitt, NY) and Darren Premo (Concord, NH). The South team will be coached by John Cooper (Parkville, MD) and Ted Garber (Avon Old Farms, CT). The West team will be coached by Tom Graesser (Kent Denver, CO) and Derek Thomson (Highland Park, TX).

This marks the second consecutive year that the event will be held in St. Louis. The South held off a late rally from the North team to win last year’s championship game 9-8.
