BALTIMORE – Behind Lacrosse, a 30-minute show about the lacrosse lifestyle, presented by Toyota, debuts this spring on College Sports Television (CSTV). The show premieres on Thursday, March 16 at 4:30 p.m. (EST) and runs 12 episodes throughout the spring.
"We are excited to offer a fresh look at the sport to long-time fans and players and at the same time introduce lacrosse to sports enthusiasts across the country," said Behind Lacrosse Director/Producer Michael Ivan Schwartz. "It’s amazing to be part of a production that will help expand, educate and inspire old and new lacrosse players and fans."
Behind Lacrosse features several different segments for each show like "Behind the Face," a mini-documentary on a key person in the lacrosse community. "Behind the Gear," sponsored by STX and hosted by Lax World, spotlights the newest and best lacrosse equipment currently out in the stores. US Lacrosse hosts the show at the Lacrosse Museum and National Hall of Fame in Baltimore. Plus each episode will feature new game highlights from CSTV’s lacrosse broadcasts.
"One segment I’m thrilled about is Behind the Fans," said Schwartz. "We are asking people to send in their home video clips of their local lacrosse games at all levels. We want to shine the spotlight on a sport that is been often under-looked."
High-caliber coaches, die-hard fans, and top-notch players like Kyle Harrison, who is featured in the first episode’s "Behind the Face," will take the field and join our all-star cast this season to share their experiences with Behind Lacrosse viewers. Behind Lacrosse is hosted by former Georgetown University All-American Sheehan Stanwick-Burch. She is currently a lacrosse correspondent for CSTV.
"I am excited to be part of a show that embraces the lacrosse lifestyle that I live as a player and as a fan," said Stanwick-Burch. "This show will allow lacrosse enthusiasts and newcomers alike to learn something new about the game we love so much."
A complete broadcast schedule for Behind Lacrosse will be released at a later date. All episodes will air at least four times a week. For more information about Behind Lacrosse, please visit www.behindlacrosse.com.
