BALTIMORE– US Lacrosse has announced the election results of the Men’s Division Officials Council (MDOC). The four positions voted on included the MDOC executive board’s 2nd vice president and treasurer, as well as the District 7 and District 9 governors.
Two incumbents will continue their service to US Lacrosse’s MDOC. The re-elected members who will serve an additional two-year term beginning January 1, 2008 are:
• Treasurer, MDOC Executive Board – Chuck Cohen (Palisades, N.Y.) • District 9 Governor – Hank Friedman (El Prado, N.M.)
Newly elected council members who will start their two-year term on January 1, 2008 are:
• 2nd Vice President, MDOC Executive Board – Harold Buck (New Hope, Minn.) • District 7 Governor – Brad Scibak (Woodbury, Minn.)
According to the MDOC bylaws, all elected officials must attend two meetings per year; one at the US Lacrosse National Convention in January and one other meeting (usually in the fall) at various sites across the country. The district governor is responsible for representing the officials in his district and for communicating, explaining, promoting, and helping administer the strategies and programs that US Lacrosse has developed to help officials do their jobs.
