US Lacrosse and Nationwide Release New Online Parents' Guide

BALTIMORE– Have you ever found yourself on the sidelines or up in the bleachers at your kid’s sporting event, confused at the official’s calls, or wondering why the team was running a particular play on the field? You’re not alone. The sport of lacrosse is a tricky game to pick-up, especially if you’re the spectator. Whistles are constantly sounding, referees are tossing up flags, complex plays are being run, and you’re just trying to keep the teams straight.

US Lacrosse and Nationwide Insurance have partnered to make following the sport of lacrosse a lot easier for parents and fans. The Parent’s Guide to the Sport of Lacrosse: 12th Edition, available online at US Lacrosse’s web site, illustrates the rules of the game for boys and girls, from field positions to equipment needed. The guide even provides a history of the sport and a glossary of terms, so you can support your team with confidence.

"Together, we have taken the lead in educating parents and fans about the sport of lacrosse," said Paul Espinosa, regional account executive for Nationwide Insurance. "Lacrosse is such an exciting sport to watch and to be a part of, so it was important to us to reach out and educate parents who are new to the game."

"US Lacrosse and Nationwide Insurance have shared values," said Glen Schorr, managing director for marketing and branding at US Lacrosse, "and Nationwide’s investment in our organization always goes right back into the sport of lacrosse."

US Lacrosse members also receive multiple advantages from Nationwide including a discount on auto insurance, life insurance, ID theft protection, and home insurance.
