BALTIMORE – The 2007 U.S. U-19 women’s lacrosse team will continue its preparations for the 2007 International Federation of Women’s Lacrosse Associations U-19 World Championship with exhibition games in Rochester and Buffalo.

The team will play a team of Rochester area high school stars at East Rochester High School on Monday, July 30 at 7 p.m. and a team of Buffalo area stars at Amherst High School on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. Admission to both games is free of charge.

In addition to the exhibition games, the U.S. team will hold two clinics for local players. The first clinic will be held on Friday, July 27 at Amherst High School from 4 to 6 p.m., and the second clinic is on Monday, July 30 at East Rochester High School from 4 to 6 p.m. The clinics are geared for girls ages 8 through 18 and are an excellent opportunity for young players to learn from some of the best players in the United States. The U.S. team will hold training camp at the Nichols School in Buffalo from July 27 through Aug. 1 before heading to Canada for the world championship. The world championship runs from Aug. 4-12 at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. The U.S. has won the last two IFWLA U-19 world championships, most recently in 2003 in Towson, Md., when it defeated Australia for the championship. Eleven nations are competing at this year’s championship.
