BALTIMORE – Don Zimmerman of the University of Maryland Baltimore County and Missy Doherty of Towson University have been selected as the US Lacrosse Coaches of the Week for the week ending May 4. Both will be recognized on CBS College Sports’ broadcast of the US Lacrosse Women’s Division Intercollegiate Associates National Championship on May 12.

After nipping Binghamton (6-5 in overtime), Zimmerman’s Retrievers rallied from nine goals down to beat Albany 14-13 to secure the America East championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament. UMBC is 12-3 and has won 11 straight games.

Doherty’s Tigers knocked off George Mason 8-7 and then beat top-seeded William & Mary 16-7 on the road to win the CAA championship and claim a berth into the NCAA tournament.

US Lacrosse and CBS College Sports are in the fifth year of a partnership to help bring college lacrosse broadcasts to fans around the nation. CBS College Sports has a 23-game package for this season, including telecasts of the NCAA Division I, II and III women’s championships and the NCAA Division II and III men’s championships. CBS College Sports will also telecast the US Lacrosse Women’s Division Intercollegiate Associates National Championship.
