BALTIMORE – US Lacrosse is pleased to announce the hiring of four new staff members. Gregg Mitchell joins US Lacrosse as the new managing director of the US Lacrosse Foundation, while Christopher Snyder is now the coaches education and training manager. Two former interns, Lindsay Comodore and Colleen Brown, have been promoted to full-time positions at US Lacrosse. Comodore is now a chapters associate and Brown is the assistant to the chief operating officer.
Gregg Mitchell joined the US Lacrosse staff as managing director for the US Lacrosse Foundation. Mitchell will focus on increasing the role of philanthropy to fulfill the US Lacrosse mission to develop the sport, offer outreach programs to new regions and underserved communities and address a critical need for added physical space in one of Maryland’s fastest growing non-profit organizations. He will also work to build and manage foundation endowment and reserve funds. Mitchell previously served as vice president for philanthropy and marketing at the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) and has over 30 years of experience in all areas of nonprofit fundraising and management. Mitchell received a B.A. in philosophy and art in 1976 from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. and has resided in Baltimore for 20 years.
Christopher Snyder joins US Lacrosse as the the coaches education and training manager, a new position at the national governing body. Snyder has a master’s degree in education and athletic management from Millersville University (Pa.) and has coached men's and women's lacrosse at the collegiate and high school levels. He is also a trained lacrosse official and certified strength and conditioning coach.
Lindsay Comodore is now a chapters associate after serving as an intern in the chapter relations department at US Lacrosse. Comodore recently graduated from Loyola College (Md.) in 2009 with a B.A. in marketing. Her new responsibility as chapters associate will be to assist the department in overseeing all aspects of chapter development for US Lacrosse’s 62 regional chapters. Comodore is originally from Spring Lake, N.J.
Colleen Brown has been promoted from a youth development intern to a full-time position as the assistant to the chief operating officer. Brown began an internship with US Lacrosse in the sport development department in September 2008. Brown has a thorough understanding of the game of lacrosse after playing on the varsity team at Loyola College (Md.). In this new position, Brown will report directly to Bill Schoonmaker, chief operating officer.
