Online Courses

Coaching Education Program

US Lacrosse offers six online coaching courses as part of the path to certification.

Our online courses feature comprehensive text, streaming video, animation, graphics and a resource library full of drills and downloadable resources for members.

Level 1 online courses are free to US Lacrosse members and are all-new for 2013. Level 2 online courses are only $30. When you complete a course, your Level 1 and Level 2 course certificates are credited toward CEP Level 1 and 2 CEP certification.

Level 1 Men's

Course instructors walk the user through the fundamentals of coaching boys’ lacrosse and methods of teaching the sport. It is free of charge to all members.

Course instructors walk the user through the fundamentals of coaching girls’ lacrosse and methods of teaching the sport. It is free of charge to all members.

The course builds on the Level 1 course material and covers tactical aspects of the game. Level 1 course is a prerequisite and costs $30 for all members.

For high school coach members seeking Level 1 certification, we honor the Fundamentals of Coaching Boys’ and Girls’ Lacrosse courses in partnership with the NFHS for just $15 (regularly $65).

Fundamentals of Men's & Women's Goalkeeping

US Lacrosse's Coaching Education Program is pleased to present the Fundamentals of Goalkeeping Course. This course is designed to provide instruction on coaching the fundamental techniques required for successful goalie play, thru a mix of videos, diagrams and text on screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Level 1

  • If I’ve already taken the old Level 1 course, do I have to take the new Level 1 course to be certified? No. But, we highly encourage you to take the new course.
  • Can I still get back into the old Level 1 course and resource bank? No. You need to sign up for the new course. All the resources have been updated and improved, plus, it’s free!
  • Do I have a time limit to take the course or access the resources? No. As long as your membership remains active, you may access the course as often and for as long as you wish.
  • How do I pass the course? You pass the course when you have viewed all the courses pages and completed all the course quizzes.
  • Is there still an end-of-course test? No, the quizzes are embedded throughout the course.
  • Do I use my old course username and password? No, use your new US Lacrosse login credentials. This system is not connected to the old online course portal.
  • Where do I find the Level 2 course? Level 2 is still on the old course portal. Your username and password remains the username and password you established for that site and is not the same as your US Lacrosse login unless you set it to be so. The Level 1 course is a prerequisite to the Level 2 course.
  • What about the NFHS/US Lacrosse online courses? The US Lacrosse coaching courses at nfhslearn.com also count toward Level 1 certification and are similar to the Level 1 courses, though not exactly the same. If you are a high school coach that is required to take the lacrosse courses on the NFHS site, we will honor those courses toward your US Lacrosse certification.

Level 2

  • Do I have a time limit to take the course or access the resources? Yes. Access is granted to the main body of the course and the test for 120 days once payment is received. You will have continuous access to the reference material.
  • How do I pass the course? You pass the course when you have viewed all the courses pages and completed all the course quizzes.
  • Is there still an end-of-course test? Yes.
  • Do I use my old course username and password? Level 2 is still on the old course portal. Your username and password remains the username and password you established for that site and is not the same as your US Lacrosse login unless you set it to be so. The Level 1 course is a prerequisite to the Level 2 course.
  • Where do I find the Level 3 course? There is no Level 3 online course. Must be Level 2-certified to pursue Level 3 certification. However, you may start taking your Continuing Education Opportunities credits (that are needed for Level 3 certification) prior to obtaining Level 2 certification. Learn more about certification.
