Making Contact

Head Location

With the eyes and chin of the player initiating contact in an upright and almost vertical position, the head should be located no lower than the shoulder of the opponent.

Hand/Arm Location

Palms are to be wrapped around the shaft and placed vertically in-line with the center of the chest. Proper hand location will place the arms in a 90 deg angle with close proximity to the body.

Stick Location

With the palms wrapped around the shaft and placed vertically in line with the center of the player’s body the stick will also be vertical with the head placed just above the shoulder.

Footwork

Footwork is to be controlled though the entire motion. Feet are positioned at a hip width distance when contact is made and continue to move though the contact to remain in control.
