What is Proper?

Contact is something that happens all the time in men's lacrosse. Making contact is the action of applying pressure with one's body to the body of another player on the field.

Body contact comes in two general categories: Legal Contact (first video) and Illegal Contact (second video). The distinction between the two categories is based on the technique of the one applying contact, the situation in which contact is made, and the intent of said contact.

Contact remains a part of the game as equipment has been developed to protect players from reasonable and legal contact while maintaining the mobility required to play the game.
