U.S. Falls to Canada in ILF Championship Game The U.S. men's national team had its 38-game winning streak snapped with a 15-10 loss to host Canada in Saturday's championship game of the 2006 International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) World Championships. The Americans, who were gunning for their seventh straight ILF title, suffered their first loss since a 17-16 overtime setback in the 1978 final, also against Canada. Leading 9-8 after three quarters, Team Canada seized control of Saturday's championship showdown by outscoring Team USA 6-2 in the fourth quarter, with Gary Gait netting all four of his goals in the quarter. Scott Urick paced Team USA with three goals and Ryan Powell added two goals and two assists. More...
